Brighton Swimming Club Postcard
1884
When researching 1884 there were not many articles and references from the Brighton Swimming Club archive so firstly we went to Brighton museums archive and looked at the local newspapers and history books.  This was very interesting and I discovered about aquatic tea parties that were hosted ever year to display swimming skills and swimming entertainment.  From with this inspiration I created my post card using the type from an old flyer and then went on to research typical tea set patterns that were used around the 1800s. I came across a Childs Allerton Punch and Judy Tea Set which I used as the background image to portray the tea parties held at these events.
